How can I find out if a 2001 GTS Viper still has it's original engine, transmission and differential? Someone told me that the Vin# for the vehicle will be stamped on these parts itself. Want to confirm this with you guys.

Where is the serial or vin# located on these components? I do know where the vehicle vin is located on the chasis, but how 'bout the drivetreain?

I have comited to purchasing this vehicle pending a service report from my mechanic, but sometimes repair to a car is done outside the dealer network and a diferent component gets installed/replaced without it ever being documented.
