Then a Chrysler ME Four-Twelve or 05 Hennessey Viper is what you need, JViper...

 

And just where in the US are you going to be able to exploit the capabilities of a 200mph car? Top speed does not matter, it's how fast you can get to that top speed.

 

Speed and 0-60 times are great....BUT...A car is nothing without control.

Take a fast car with no control on a dragstrip and it wins...take that same car to a roadcourse and you'd have a problem.

The difference is that the Viper has been doing it for YEARs. And if it was Chev coupe VS Dodge Coupe the advantage would go closer to the Dodge, but all is fair in love and war.

 

Viper has been winning the Civil war for years now. However things have changed. The Z06 is something for us all to be proud off.
The new Z06 has actually recorded the second fastest lap by a production car ever at the famed Nürburgring Nordschleife. And that coming from a car that only cost $70k is amazing. It is the total package.

 

At 70k might as well save for the viper. After all its right around the corner (85k). What happened to the zo6 65k it went up.

 

Being the all out performer that this car is, the dealers have been getting away with $20k over MSRP. In my eyes it is still a good deal. How much would it cost to buy a stock mid 11 second car elsewhere?

 

The current Z06 certainly is a formidable automobile. I recently had the opportunity to test one out and I'd be lying to say that I wasn't impressed (except that the Viper coupe certainly has more headroom!). Personally though, I would take the new Viper coupe over it anyday.

To me, the Viper is far more exotic and intimidating in appearance. Devoid of all electronic aids (except ABS), it is a true driver's car- the kind that will constantly challenge your courage and limitations. The signature roar from the V10 engine simply emasculates any sound to have ever exited the tailpipes of a production corvette.

In my eyes, the Corvette has always been playing catch up to the Viper. There is no doubt in my mind that the next-generation Viper (due for it's first appearance in September of this year) will seriously clean-house with the current 'vette as it has always done in the past. Apparentally team SRT has it's sights set on the Saleen S7 for this next incarnation of Viper. That leaves one question: Corvette who?

 

We will still have a lower end model supposively...

I'll say this again..... I wonder how many times I'll have to say it? The viper is not as fast as the ZO6 period.............. You found one mag (that is wrong) and you believe it. Well look at the lastest issue of car and driver. The ZO6 went 0-60 in 3.5(most other test show between 3.5-3.7) ran the 1/4 in 11.7 and pulled all the way to an indicated 207mph. Thats the sept. 2006 issue of car and driver. Read it and find out the Truth.
In the words of one car and driver test driver; " the ZO6 is the best performance value in the world, period". Oh and my favorite" it's stupid fast".
I know this is a dodge site, and I should say things like the viper can out run the space shuttle, but it can't. So if one guy tell you it can, and the rest of the free world says it can't.Then be ok with it. The viper is a fast car, but it's not stupid fast!
