Default Need help on painting something

This is what I have in mind. '06 QC Silver Ram. On the side they have the RAM 1500 in chrome. I want to paint it black, I think it would look good on the Silver. How do I remove them and put them back on? Are they paintable, if so, How do I go about doing this?

if they arn't bolted on, you can soften the glue with a hair dryer and use a credit card type object, simply pry them off, clean up the glue while you're there
then you sand the emblems with super fine sandpaper, I use no less than 320 grit, then spray it with some adhesion promoter, and following the instructions on the can, paint it, using light coats, instead of one heavy one
when i paint, i use a heat gun lightly between coats to harden the paint and shorten drying times between coats
