You must know a hair dryer does not get hot enough to help anything. A heat gun works, which is the same heat as a tourch gun at a safe distance of course, working in a body shop I certainly hope you know that. In that, you are agreeing with me, so you are calling your own idea ridiculous. On this, I have had enough of your behavior so I am stepping out of this topic. Here is a link to another forum that supports the heat gun and tourch concept as well as some other experiences and knowledge. Note fishing wire is extremely harmful to your paint. I try to add my opinion here and my experience and I appoligize to the original poster. It was not my intention at all to hijack the thread (again this is another reason I step away from threads when they get like this).

the easiest way is like some people have said use a piece of floss or fishing line works good cuz it wont break as much as floss does but its up to you. Then just get some adhesive remover and put some on a towel dont just throw it on there and take a the glue residue left behind then just use a littlle bit of wax so it make the paint blend in with the other so it wont be so rough.
I'm going to take the factory sport graphics off of my 2001 Ram. Being on there for 5 years now, with a still beautiful blue paint job, would there really be much of a difference in the paint under the graphics and the rest of the truck?
Well I'm second owner, just bought it last month. I have no clue what hte last owner did to it. My guess is that it more than likely sat in teh sun a lot. But...the paint looks immaculate when washed.
You might want to look at the door jabs or anywhere else where the sun didn't hit the paint. That'll give you an idea. You can also get a tube of touch up paint and make a paint chip and see how close that looks to the current color....
