Valves
I have a vavle on cyl. 5that needs to be replaced, and no way im paying 1500 bucks to get it done. How hard is it to replace valves? and the only special tool i can think of, that i would need, is a valve spring compressor. anything else? and mainly I am worried about electronic stuff. Heres how i remember taking off the heads, let me know if this is correct.
1.Remove throttle body and drain antifreeze.
2. Remove Intake manifold.
3. Remove valve covers and take out the rocker arms.
4. remove exhaust manifold.
5.Take off all the head bolts (I havent looked yet, i dont know how many)
6. pull off the head.
then replace the valves and get new head & intake gaskets? is this pretty close to what i will have to do? I know its just the basics that i listed, so any help would be great.

RE: Valves
my truck is at times giving me a misfire code on cylinder #5, the weird thing though is that it misses at idle, but runs fine at highway speeds, my family owns a dealership and we have spent some time chasing the problem without a concrete feeling of what is causing it
Are these engines renowned for carbon build up? i have run a top engine cleaner through mine and have also replaced the cyliner #5 injector and it seems better, sound similar at all???
