Fuel Pump Fuse Blowing
This is on a 96 Neon.
Spent a few hours over the weekend trying to follow a "no spark" issue. The Neon stalled as my son in law was pulling up to a gas pump, fuel guage just past E. Wasted time focusing on ignition related issues until we found a blown 20a fuel pump fuse in the PDC. Replaced it and the Neon started and ran fine.
Son in law was 3.5 miles from home this morning when it blew again. Replaced fuse and headed home. Blew and replaced 2 more on the 3.5 mile drive back home.
The FSM has not been the greatest help in diagnostics so far. Will be picking up an OBDII scan tool on the way home.
Electrical problems are not my forte. My dad is a good electrician but going out of town in a few days. Anyone have any ideas where I can start. Maybe eliminate a few dead ends?
Any help would be appreciated.

I believe thats a dedicated line back to the fuel pump , I'd have to say you either have a bad wire or fuel pump ... I'd start at the pump and follow the wires looking for cuts chafing ect ...did you install anything recently ???
I am good at reading gud spalling lol
Thanks for the help so far. We did find the main ground from the motor was loose at the motor, not sure why we did notice it earlier. He reported a sound that was probably the bolt falling out the day the car died. However, the fuse blew again during a test ride. Just lasted a bit longer this time.
It is going in the garage tonight and up on ramps for a good look see underneath. Time to start inspecting all of the wiring. Man, I hate auto electrical.
Oh, nothing has been installed lately. The fuel pump was replaced a couple of years ago though. Will be taking a close look there.
