Overload Springs Dodge 2500- Not Possible ??
[
] I was just informed by an aftermarket spring maker that it is not possible to put overload springs on the new Dodge Ram pickups (2500 SRW) . This is due to the box construction of the frame rails that does not allow bolting the stops to the rail and Dodge does not allow anything to be welded to the rail. Does anyone have some insight on this ??
(The 3500 SRW comes with overloads but apparently the stops are welded on at the factory prior to final hardening of the rails- that is how the factory gets away with it)

frankly, I dont know. the main reason I got a 2500 was so it would be virtualy impossable for me to overload it when I do haul loads. my little tacoma shows what happens when you do overload though. . .she sags a bit in the back
hum. . .something tells me that last comment sounds a bit wrong[&:]
however, what I think you may be talking about are helper springs that give some wiggle room of loading before they contact the braces they ride against, and the overload spring is the bottom straight spring on the pack. but if I'm wrong please correct.
