97 Dakota Drivetrain Noise
Hi There,
Im having a problem with my 97 Dakota SLT+ with 4 wheel drive and limited slip rear diff, truck has 116K miles. When I come off a highway exit ramp with a Curve to the right and then come to stop I get a vibration/Shudder coming from rear of truck when I begin to accelerate. Noise/Vibration lasts for only a few seconds. Occasionally same thing happens with straight line stop. This has become a more frequent occurence in recent weeks.
U-joints seem tight, there is some play in differential but doesnt seem excessive. Have noticed what sounds like increase in road noise recently as well but noise is consistent when driving on Snow and on Dry pavement. Some leakage noted on LS backing plate but not excessive(dry caked on dirt not wet(RS is dry and Clean)
