Ok here the deal this is just a project truck of mine but my main vehicle went down several days ago so i had to order a new motor( on its way). This is now my main vehicle. The transmission was out when i purchased it but it crank and ran like a brand new truck. I bought a used transmission and installed it, the truck GOES now but will not idle at all even in neutral. When you put it in drive unless you have the rpms around two thousand its like someone dropped a wrench in the motor it stops so fast. Ive installed new wires, plugs, dist cap and rotor. Ive also checked my vacumes and as it turns out there are lines cut everywhere where whoever had it b4 me just butchered it, so i blocked them all off but its still doing it. WHY would it run fine b4 the tranny instalation and so poorly after???????????????
