Default a/c problems

2000 dakota 3.9 a/c blows very cold air, but after driving 20 to 30 minutes it starts blowing warm air. the a/c clutch kicks out and after turning the air off and waiting 5 minutes and turning it back on most times it will work again for awhile. what is kicking the clutch out?
