Default 95 ram 1500 with bad heat

95 ram 1500 p/uand I dont have good heat. The temp Guage reads normal but the heat does not get hot.. I dont think its a thermostat problem but dont know what else it could be the heater core lines get hot on both sides even though it has a very slow leak. Any sugestion??

The 'blend door' near the AC evaporator behind the passenger side dash may have gone bad...it is a common problem. On a Ram the heater coolant lines run all the time and the blend door mixes hot air with cold to adjust air temperature. You could also check the 5/8 inch diameter coolant lines to the heater by backflushing through them with low pressure from a garden hose.

The factory thermostat on a 1995 is a Robertshaw/Siebe 'standard grade' made with a steel upper body and brass underarms. It is common for the brass arms to crack and leave the valve jammed partly open.
