My column shifter on my 2003 dodge ram moves like there is no linkage hooked up any more. It is stuck in Drive so I can not start it or anything. Looking for advice, thanks,

 

well.. 2 places to check... go look on the transmission where the cable hooks up to the tranny.. have someone move the shifter.. is it moving?? is it even connected??? if its connected.. but not moving... the only other place to look.. is under the column.. im sure either its busted off of the shifter.. or the wire inside the sheath is busted.. in any case.. reach up under the truck on the tranny.. and put it in park manually so it dont roll away... until you can get a new shift cable...
