Have a 03 ram 2500hd 4x4. Has code for random cyl misfire, 1/1 o2 sensor. Has good spark and fuel pressure. Seems to be running on @ 4 cyls. While pulling wires to check for spark while running the ground on rt valve cover started sparking!!! thought i had the prob fixed but to no avail. Has a very rotten exh smell as well. Catalyst gets screaming hot but scanner says running rich??? Crank time is long and occasionally crank/cam is out of sync. I am lost fellas, what the heck is going on!!!!!

occasionally crank/cam is out of sync all of these symptoms combined tell me to CHANGE THE CAT CONVERTER... its plugged... it can cause ALL of this..




what the heck is going on!!!!! THE CAT IS PLUGGED.. start there.. see how many codes go away the whole sparking on the valve cover.. sounds like you could use some wires too.. its good that you have spark when you check each wire.. but thats to ground.. ya need to get a decent set of wires as well[align=right][/align]
