Thanks for the link. Made me laugh pretty hard. I have a feeling that feeding the monkey would probably get pretty pricey through the years.

Viper makes a good alarm. Clifford is another good one. As long as it has all the features you want and has some type of code-jumping technology your good. Oh also a good installer, 99% of alarms are installed under the dash by the steering colum, rip the box out the alarm shuts off, on most of them, and take you time doing whatever you want with the car.

You might want to check out AutoPage. There alarms work very well and have alot of features other alarms dont. They also offer a remote start/alarm combo that is second to none.

If you are looking for easy do it yourself alarms, I always liked Crimestopper. Cheaper prices, anti-code grabbing, and you can get them with remote start combinations. I just installed a remote start only unti in my finace's 98 Cherokee and it works great.

It has a smart tachless mode that starts the vehicle without even referencing a source of engine speed.
