Default dimmer switch

Have a 1995 ram 1500. I was out after dark the other day and my lights went out. I got home by holding switch on the steering wheel back toward me. That kept my hi-beams on, when i let go of it no lights at all. Since then my low=beams are an off and on thing. sometimes work sometimes not. My question is which switch should i replace, the 1 on the column or the on and off **** on the dash. And of course how do i get into them. especially the dash. I have replaced the bulbs in the headlights but no help.

the switch on the dash went out.. not hard.. pull the dash trim off.. BE CAREFUL not to break it.. but its not screwed on.. it just pops out.. then there should be 4 screws i think it is to get the switch out..
