Problems changing genuine Radio for different type
Hi Everyone
I have just purchased my fist town and country and I have already got myself in trouble.
I wanted to put a different radio in it but as you may know the van reads the radio to check it is the right radio that came with the van.
What I mean by this is if I connect the new radio I have no sound if I pug in the original radio and turn on the ignition it asks for a code for a second or two then clears and works fine. If I then connect the new radio without turning the ignition off I have sound but as soon as I turn the ignition off no sound again.
I thought it just may need power to a wire but all wires seem to have the same power apart from the speaker wires, which have no voltage as soon as you connect the original radio they stay dead until the code search clears then they all become live 6v. Is there a work around for this or can a dealer clear it so you can fit any radio.
Thanks
Bill
