Hi, I was in the middle of changing the distributor cap, rotor button, & plugs/wires, I had to stop for my kids bike accident and forgot where I was and forgot the proper wiring for my truck from distrubutor cap to the plugs & just to make sure that the position of the cap is correct, I will need to know that also. I have a 1997 ram 1500 5.9/v8 mag engine.I have searched over and over for the info on line, but to no avail. If more info is needed let me know. I really need to finish this and get back to my lawn service business. Thank youto all for your help with this situation.

That diagram is for a 6 cylinder, I have a v8/magnum ,97 ram 1500 club cab. Thanks for the help just the same.

 

18436572 is the firing order 1357 are on the driver side head 2468 on pass side head rotate engine to tdc crank dampener mark. now pull dist cap and check where the rotor is pointing if it is pointing towards the pass side you start with #1 there, about where the diagram for the six in the above referance is located, if it is pointing the oposite, rotate the engine one full revolution and there you have it, some dist caps will have a #1 on the #1 position, just go from there clockwise with the firing order.
