Default D250 won't turn over

I have a 85 D250 that won't turn over acts like it wants to start but won't. I have replaced the ignition coil, control module, and distributor cap and rotor. Plus the EGR and PVC valves have been replaced. It has new spark plugs and wires. This has been a project for me and my other to restore this truck. But we still can't get the truck to kick over. Could it be the points which are electrical on this truck or the timing? Can it be anything else maybe?

a 1985 shouldent have points in the dist. it should have the chrysler electronic ignition.
the easyest way to check it, find the two wires going to the dist, there should be a quick connect. there should be two wires in the connector. if you unplug it you will find that the side that that goes th the body has a metal connector on one side. pull the coil wire out and set it so it has a 1/4 in. gap to ground. turn the ign sw to on not start, now strick the bare connector to a ground. the ign coil wire should put out a spark. if it doesnt you have trouble in the ign system. then check the the ballest resistor, it should be .5 ohms or 5.0 ohms i cant remember, they go bad oftten. the other things that go bad is the coil in the dist, and the ign box it should have 4 wires. an other thing that can happen is if a 5 pin box gets put on a 4 wire body. the 5 pin box uses a duel ballest res. a 4 pin box uses a single res. a 5pin box has voltage comming in on 2 wires if it gets put on a 4 pin body the 5 pin box doest get the voltage it needs
