Here's what you do.
1st Build it to withstand around 300 whp.
2nd Build it to have around 300 turbocharged whp.
3rd Put in a boost controller that he doesn't know about and don't let him know exactly how powerful it really is.
4th Dial the boost down to a very easy to drive and safe boost level.
5th As he gets use to the car and to driving, as long as he keeps from getting tickets or getting in any accidents, then after about a year show/tell him about the boost controller and let him have the full 300 whp.
This way he can learn to drive safely and then it would be like a FREE birthday present for him.[sm=smiley2.gif]

That's pretty much how I figured on doing it. Make it safe and reliable first, then as he becomes a better driver give the car a little more. If I get the car done before he's driving I want it to be fast and fun for me, then "detune" it for him to start with. This will give him a hot rod that nobody(cops or insurance)would even notice.
