'99 Ram Cracked Dash
I've heard the '99 - '02 models(give or take a year) are notorious for their dash busting. I'm currently looking into a '99 Ram 1500 with a severly cracked dash. It's at 103k mi. and besides the tailgate + bed liner the truck is in pretty nice shape for its year, miles, etc. The only dramatic issue is the dash. Does anyone know what the initial cost would be to replace it? I would look more into it myself, but since most of you are more keen on a Dodge I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask.
How hard is it to 'do it yourself' or is it overall... not worth it? The truck is at $8.2k and if it turns out the getting the dash replaced isn't too excruciatingly painful, we were going to ask them to take less for it since the 1) Dash needs to be replaced 2) Needs a bed line and 3) Needs a new tail-gate.
So if anyone could enlighten me of the difficulty, initial cost, and recommendations. I'd appreciate it
Don't be timid on being blunt, I'd rather that than it being sugar-coated
Also, if anyone can do carfax for me too... that'd be even better!

( It says it's $8.7k but at the lot it's $8.2k )
