Default please help

i was wondering if anyone would know anything about 2 problems i am having with my
1991 daytona. it is a 3.0 v6. the trouble with 1 thing is the cooling fan is not shutting off
after i turn off the car, it ran till the battery died?the next question is far more important.
when i am driving in the high 70's 80's on the turnpike, the car will sputter and will lose power
and if i floor it,it jumps and sputters and then finally seems to run. i am not sure what it is, any info would be greatly appreciated. it does have 165,000 mi. on it.
thank you , dale

If the fan is staying on the temp sensor is saying that the car is still hot, it runs independatly from the ignition switch. Replace the temperature sensoer for the fan, I am not that familiar with your car, but some cars have run it off the engine temperature sensor through the computer, some use a separate sensor for just the fan. Do a tune up for the rest, plugs, wires, air filter, run some injector cleaner through the car.

THERE IS A FAN SWITCH LOCATED ON THE BOTTOM OF MOST RADIATORS. IF IT IS STICKING OPEN, IT NEVER BREAKS THE GROUND CIRCUIT FOR THE FAN RELAY. PULL OFF THE CONNECTOR, AND TEST IT FOR CONTINUITY. IF IT HAS CONTINUITY WHEN THE CAR IS COLD THEN IT IS BAD. gOOD LUCK
