Default LED Replacement Bulbs

I replaced my tailights today with 3157 LEDs and my brake and turn signal fuses were blown when I got home....I did the swap because the running light filament on the driver's side was out, and now I am in the same situation, but the bake lights and turn signals don't work....has anybody else made this swap and had similar problems? I plan on checking the voltage and looking for short througout the wiring tommorow( It's too cold outside right now!)..any help would be great. Thanx

I would say you have a short, LED bulbs use far less power than regular bulbs. Look for broken wires.

Alright, after hours of tracking wires and studying wiring diagrams, I found the problem! Bulbs! The bulbs are in fact made by APC and they are supposed to replace a 3157 Bulb. I replaced my parking lights with blue 3157's (also from APC) and they work fine! The rears however kept blowing the brake and turn signal fuses(15a). I used the clear 3057s I had in the parking lamps and it worked fine! I don't know if there is some big difference in 3057 and 3157 bulbs, but either works fine in the parking lights! Maybe it is just the LEDs. I plan on emailing APC and asking them what the deal is....no big deal but I was worried I had a lot bigger problem on my hands! thanx for the input

wow, an LED uses less power than a regular bulb. Must be something wrong with the bulbs. Thanks I was thinking about gettin the LED bulbs from APC, i'll find another company now.

Check the led bulb with an ohm meter. It should be 180 ohms or more. Reversed polarity should show no conductivity, or it would be a dead short.

The first thing is LED lights will make your turn signal flash fast becuse it thinks there is a burnt out light bulb and the second thing is APC led suck I would retrun them and get Jam Stait LED auto zone has them they have a 10 year replacement I have them and they have not given me any problems I would go to there web site at http://www.jamstrait.com/products.html. They have Load Equalizers to make your turn signal flash like normal hope this helps.
