LOUD!!
I have a 1998 Dodge Dakota 2.5L 2WD. Last night I was coming home from work in the pooring rain. I hit a big puddle going about 45mph, once I regained control of the truck and downshifted I noticed it had become VERY loud!! So loud that I couldnt hear the radio. It wasn't accelerating very fast either and it seemed the faster I tried to go the louder it got. I'm hoping I can determine and fix this problem on my own. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I used to do this on my old stock exhaust. Driving my 99 ram. Everytime i hit a big puddle my muffler would fall down. Easy fix just make sure the exhaust is cool and slip it back up on. If it is the muffler of course. Pretty easy to spot hanging down.
A guy I work with has had this happen to his Dodge Ram 1500 a couple times too. He just slipped the muffler back on and strapped it up with a strip of metal so it wouldn't fall again. He hasn't had a problem since.
