Need Power window help, not working.
The power windows on my 83 ramcharger quit working. The "12V 30amp" metal fuse in the main fuse block gets hot when left in. I have taken a Volt meter and found that it is getting 12.5 Volts constant, whether the key is on or off. I purchased a new fuse but it does the same thing. I have unplugged the passenger door wiring, so its not that. I have unplugged the driver side window switches, so its not that either. All I see on the back of the fuse block for that fuse is a Green wire (thicker than the others), and a black. Im lost on what to check here. I took the doors apart and ran a wire from the fuse block to the motors in the doors and got my windows up.
If its the same as another one of my vehicles. I should not have power at that fuse unless, the key is on, and the window switch is either pussed up or down.

If it even has one maybe it's located in the fuse panel either under the hood or in the cab.
Also what about a key switch????
Just trying to come up with something for ya???????

Hydrashocker, Thanks for your help!
I have isolated the problem. On my driver window, it controls both sides. There is a white wire that is the -Negative (the tan wire runs to the passenger side, it is also the -neg that completes the circuit). If you follow it, somewhere it changes to Green. Which runs straight to the fuse pannel. That wire, green-white is grounding some where in the dash. On the back of the fuse pannel where the 12Volt fuse is there is a black wire that runs 3-4 fuses. It is the positve. Im just going to run a single wire in place of where the white one is(which also runs to where the tan one is) and put it in place of the Green wire on the fuse pannel. I will completely eliminate the green/white wire thats being grounded.
