Hello all,
I have an 02 Ram quad cab with the 4.7L, and when I let the clutch out in either 1, 2, or 3 I hear a rubber kinda sqeak/tick. Its never done this before, and it started about three days ago. The truck has 43,000 miles on it, and I admitt that I drive a little hard, but is my clutch going out already? If anybody has any ideas please let me know. And if it helps, the truck has a four inche lift w/35's, and I was at the dunes a week ago. Thanks

 

Hey, I have an '04 1500 with a 5 speed and I don't have trouble with it...but I did have a 98 cherokee with a 5 speed and the clutch went out. I did some extensive research, and before you go and say the clutch is bad....you should check the linkage at the firewall and to the master cylinder. Make sure the fluid is good. I think at 50k miles the maintenance manual says something about bleeding the clutch system, if not, it may be a good idea. If not there, follow the lines from the master cylinder to the slave cylinder in the transmission. maybe you'll find something there.
