I have a 1989 Dodge Ram D-50 4x4 Auto, with a gutless 2.6L that is dead. I hope some out there has a answer for me as I can't find it any were else. First of all what I know is my truck has a 2.6L engine with a KM148 auto transmission on a K_3T chassis. I also know that the Dodge Raider/Montero came with a 2.6L and a 3.0L. The 2.6L was a G54B engine, and the 3.0L was a 6G72. The Raider/Montero also had a KM148 transmission. I know in 1990+ D-50's had a 3.0L engine avalible, but also had a different chassis number which was K_6T. OK now for my questions, is the bolt pattern the same on the G54B and 6G72 for the transmission or is there a different bell housing needed? Can a 3.0L 6G72 from a Stealth be used on a KM148 transmission? Whats the differnce in the K_3T and K_6T chassis? Would I be able to do this swap with out any major changes to the motor mounts or the frame? PLEASE HELP.[8D]
