changing rearend / gears how hard to do?

Default changing rearend / gears how hard to do?

how much is involved in changing gears (ring an pinion) the dealership says four hours labor to do the change. is this about right!

it is not that hard if you have the right tools and know what you are doing. If you don't, I would suggest having someone else help you with it. If you don't line everything up right, you have a real good chance of killing the gears. Take your time and test it before you drive anywere.

i would shop around for a better shop rate than the dealer, but 4 hrs is the going time for r&p change out. you can save some cash and buy your own parts. make sure to get the master install kit with new carrier barings . im getting ready to start buying the parts for the install later after i get the lift and new rubber.
