Default Electrical question

I have a 2000 Mini Van SE it has just over 75K & the Figgin warranty just expired last month.
Any way when the parking or driving lights are turn on my left turn signal on my dash stays illuminated then the "door open"chime dings constantly.
I did a walk around & there are no bulbs out.

Any help in this matter would be grately appreciated.
Thank's in advance

Bob

Thank's I figured that it was a short or a grounding issue,Im just not sure as to where it is.I snooped around for the obvious broken or blown bulbs, wire chafing, rusting grounds, fuse's ect....I just can't find it.
I did notice that the driverside (front & rear) parking bulbs are brighter than the passenger side.
I posted this same question in "The Mini Van Forum" & had no reply's,plenty of hit's though!I thought I'd toss it here in the "General tech forum" as well,is there anyone here that can help or anybody eles have this sort of problem with there Van & would like to help out?
Much thank's in advance!

Casper thank's for the reply.

Bob

Only thing I can tell you is get a multi meter and start ringing out wires.

Don't think it's a grounding problem. Is the light switch and the turn signal switch the same? If it is, I'd say your problem would be there, but the door chime is throwing me a bit.

Sounds like one of two things. The multifunction switch is bad. IE the turn signal lever on the steering column. I don't know how the van is setup electronically but that is what I would shoot at to start. As for the door chimer, I'm gonna take a stab at that one. I imagine your Van is a newer van. It probiably has a BCM in the passenger compartment. Alot of the newer vehicles if the BCM detects the signals on for a certain time will give a warning chime IE door chime to let the driver know that the light is on. Another possibility is that the wiring on the column is rubbed through and causing a short. I find this unlikely though. I would bank on the multifunction switch if I had to shoot in the dark at it.
