I have a 96 Ram with 112000 miles I replaced the oil pump about 6 months ago and I just had the gauge go to 0 and idiot light come on. Does any one know if both come off the same sending unit or could the pump be gone again already? Thanks

I have the same problem, my mechanic thinks I need a new engine, I have a '96 with 155k and I replaced the oil pump about 8 months ago but didn't realize I had a bad catylitic converter until recently got the converter replaced but oil pressure dropping and the idiot light comes on. It did the same thing last time when the oil pump went out, at idle it build pressure but then slowly drops after reaching a higher rpm. Any thoughts?
