Dealer just replaced cpm on my 2002 dakota. I drove about 5 miles and got check engine light took back to dealer and they pulled code P0551(power steering pressure switch) They want $300.00 to replace switch and hose. The only problem is I cant find the switch any where on my truck. Can anyone tell my where this switch is?

go to autozone at autozone.com and put in that truck and then on the left side, where it says "shopping" , chick on that and then also on the left side it will say "Component Locations" click on that , and then some random (i guess) come up, and a little to the right and down is a box with the heading "Browse Component Locations" and with the alphebet in there where each letter is a link. look into "p" or "s" (don't know how they list it) and hopefully you will find their listing.

(I have been using it quite frequently lately - has worked really nice (do not have to make a trip to the library))

A pressure sensing switch (Power Steering Pump Pressure Switch—4.7L V-8 Engine) is included in the power steering system (mounted on the high-pressure line). This switch will be used only on vehicles equipped with a 4.7L V–8 engine and power steering. The switch should be number 2 in the picture below. Click on the picture to enlarge it. Hope this hwlps
