automatic to manual?
i recently purchased a 97 avenger v6 with an automatic transmission. i had asked a friend of mine if it was possible to turn it into a standard and he said he thought so. can anyone tell me if this is possible and if so, how much it might cost me? thanks.

Find a dirt cheap wrecked & blown-up 97 Avenger stick shift car & save yourself TONS of time & $$$
ok, i was looking around online and found an article on avengers. it said that only the base model (v4) came w/ a manual transmission standard w/ the 4 speed auto transmission optional, but the ES came with the v6 and 4-speed automatic transmission standard, with the v4 and manual transmission optional. here's some of the article:
"The base had a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine with dual-overhead camshafts and 140 horsepower. A 5-speed manual transmission was standard and 4-speed automatic optional. The ES got a 2.5-liter single-camshaft V6 that came only with the automatic, but a 4-cylinder engine and manual shift were available as credit options."
my question is, will it matter that the manual transmission was only available in cars with the v4 engine? the car i own is a 97 dodge avenger ES w/ a v6 engine. sorry if this is basic, i just want to make sure before i go buying parts and what not. thanks again.
