everyday when i turn my car on for the first time it idles high. the rest of the day it is fine no matter how many times i turn it on or off. any idea why it would idle high only the first time of the day. time of day has no effect on it. it should idle at 600-800 rpm, and the high idling I'm whining about is at 1100-1300 rpm.
may just be a warm up issue. if it was a constant problem it would do it all the time. if you start it from cold and give it a minute or to does it settle down?
I have a 2000 ram, and occasionally when I start it, it idles between 1300 and 1800 rpm. It does not go back down after a while. If I shut the engine off with the truck in gear, then put it in neutral and start it back up, it seems to be ok for a while. Anybody have any ideas??
nosa, this thread is over a year old, and is about a vehicle that is not related to your Ram. I know you have a thread in the Ram section already. If you want input in this section as well, it's best that you start your own thread about your issue.
