HELP: '89 Dodge Shadow
Okay, here's the stats: 1989 Dodge Shadow Hatchback Sedan with under 50,000 miles.
Here's the problem: I came out of the store and it wouldn't start. It would sound like it wanted to turn over and then nothing would happen. The lights and radio DID come on, but that obviously doesn't completely rule out battery problems. My boyfriend thinks it may be any of the following:
*alternator[:@]
*belt[:'(]
*battery[8D]
*starter
I was wondering if anyone has heard of this as an reoccuring thing in Dodge Shadows or no. And if you could tell me what you think it may be, that would be awesome.

Well for starters lets check these things out
Battery and alternator can be checked for free at murry's auto parts they do it for free here.
the belt you gotta do yourself check for odd wear cracks tears and for a tight fit.
are you sure its just these did you jump it and get it started or is it still not running at all
and no as far as i know their is no bad problem with that car they are cheap and run well
good luck

I just had a simular problem on a 1992. It ended up being the starter was overheating. After about 30 minutes it would work. The starter was only a year old. The parts store relized the rebuilder had a rash of faulty units.
