I was given a truck my my great uncle. I need to get it smogged. Last time it was smogged 6 months ago it passed. But i need to get it smogged to transfer the title to me. I found a hole in the muffler. I ordered a performance one but may not get in time for registering it.

My question is:
Will smog pass when there is a hole in the muffler? It is a slit about 1/2" wide and a 1" long. it is a rusted hole.

 

after the cat everything that moves down the tail pipe is the same stuff that flows out of the end of the pipe.

the hole in the muffler wont hurt anything, however, if that hole was before or in the CAT there there would be a problem
