Already did the search, could not find exactly what I am looking for. I want to know If the panic button on the key fob can be disabled without affecting too much else? Scenario; wife throws keys in purse, hits something, alarm goes off. Happens way too often. No, haven't looked in the owners manual. Yet.
Only thing I could find was basically a few people saying to pry open the remote and put some kind of piece of paper/tape/post-it note over the contact. Several people on various boards suggest this.
Contact Dodge? They may have a way to program it off/disabled.
Yeah, I figure I'll end up attacking the key FOB itself. Paper or tape under the button sounds like it may not have the collateral damage my 5lb single jack would've. LOL.
Will call the dealership anyway.
I'll let you know.
I am pretty sure ther is not much you can do other than getting an aftermarket alarm and tossing the factory, but call the dealer and see what they say.
