Intrepid won't shift out of 2nd gear....
HI All...
I have a 2001 intrepid that won't shift out of 2nd gear. I've replaced both trans sensors with no results. Any suggestions as to what I can do next, in order to get this thing working correctly??
Thanks!!

The shops 'aint doin nothing free especially diagnostics. Buy a trans. filter kit and change the fluid again. Add some Lucas ,and away you go. And if you can trust someone other than yourself to work on it. Be careful! R.V.
Not doing anything for free? well then i guess i forgot to pay when i had the free trans check done at a shop. If you look in the phone book you may be able to find a shop in your erea that offers free trans checks. I do an awful lot of free brake checks, safety inspection, exhaust check ect at work every day. Alot of shops will do it in hopes that if they find something that you will have them do the service with them but you can say no after the trans check. Matter of fact the shop i went to did the diagnostic and reset my tranny and then took the time to relearn the shift pattern.
Does the trany start off in second gear and stay there? If so this is meens the trany computer has seen a problem and has gone into limp home mode.
The computer should have stored the fault in memory.
Access the fault codes and this should let you know what happened.
