Default What's the answer?

My wife owns a 2003 Eclipse. Never had a problem with it until recently. All of a sudden, the car has a hard time starting in the morning. We took it into Mitsu, and they said that there was a bunch of carbon built up in the engine; then we took it home and in less than a week later, same problem. It starts up, spudders, and then sometimes dies out, unless she gives it more gas. We took it back a couple of weeks ago, they said that all of the major manufacturers are having the same problems with their cars. They blame it on the cheaper gas companies by saying that they have been watering down the gas. We all know that that is illegal.

She took it in, and they supposedly ran what ever through it to clean it up. Now, it's doing it again, plus it acts real funny when she drives it. Something to the effect that it jerks hard sometimes, and it also wants to stall in the mornings.

Here's what I think, and maybe somebody can tell yea or nay on this, but I think that the fuel filter needs to be replaced. If not the filter, then my second pick would be the fuel pump, and if not the pump, then probably some bad injectors.

What's the answer?

Thanks.

Is it still under warenty? If so I would demand that they fix it and not give up.

Yeah, it still under warranty. I'm sure they're going to tell us something weird this time too. Might have to take it to a Dodge Dealership instead. lol

LOL, I don't think Dodge will do too much. Threaten to report them to the better business bureoa. Or you can do what I did, walk into the dealership to get them to fix that and walk up to the nearest salesman with a customer and start telling them how good their service is and how they honor their warentys

is it a 4 or 6? if its the v6, i had a similar issue, due to a post MAFS intake leak unmetered air would make it want to stall, and sometimes it did stall. how many miles? i also had a cracked plug, as the sotck plugs that come in the 6g72 are junk, even though theyre supposed to be "100,000 mile plugs"..thats crap. also, has it ever been tuned up? what did they do to it, and how would they know, without tearing the engine down, that it was carboned up? and CEL?

Oh, ok, I never got into engine #'s, I know a little about the old ones, not much though, I had an old 2.2T daytona CS, but that was before I knew anything.
