Ram Van Computer Temperature Sensitive?
Picked up a nice '94 B250 3.9 AT Conversion Van this spring and grew quite fond of it. Beginning with some cool mornings in August, the engine would crank but not fire. Leave the ignition on for a few minutes and the cutout and/or fuel pump relays will begin to cycle and gradualy increase tempo until the check engine light flickers. Eventually the relays close, light comes on steady, cycles off and the engine will start. Usually OK till the next cold morning. Obviously, or so it seemed, the ECM is temperature sensitive. No problem, I just found a used part and installed it. Everything runs fine but the "dead when cold" symptom remains. Can anyone suggest a non-computer fault that might cause this condition? Is it possible that this series of computers could all have the same flaw?
