Default 81' Dodge Ram Running problems

Its been at the mechanic's shop for a month now. The original problem was the carborater, i got that fixed($400) Then he said it still wasn't starting and running well in cold weather and he said it was the manifold. I got that fixed($200) And now the truck has the same problems. Was a taken advantage of? He says he has no clue now what the problem is. Any help troubleshooting is very apreciated. thanks

Did he put on a rebuilt carb?
When you say it isnt running right when cold...does it run ok when it's fully warmed up?
What engine? Carb model/brand? 2 or 4bbl?
