I guess I will just have to live with the mpg on my '02 Dakota with the 4.7, but I have improved it for less than $90.</P>


First was a K&amp;N air filter, to let more air in. Then a $19.95 muffler which lets it out better, and gives a beautiful sound. Deep. Not at all obnoxious. Both items from Checker Auto. Getting the original muffler off required getting the connections red hot and you will need a piece of 2 1/2" pipe about 13" long plus some clamps, but it is worth it. Also gets up to the shift points faster, so I am making more HP.<IMG src=smileys/smiley17.gif border="0"></P>

Yup, Yup... Those are the things I started with on my Ram... It only gets better from there...

The sales slip identifies it as #6694551 2 1/2RAPTOR Muffler at $19.99, with a Million Mile Warranty. Don't know the details of the warranty. Maybe I would have to go a million miles to be covered??? K&amp;N fiter was $52.99, clamps $4.49@.</P>
