does anyone understand cam specs?
the book for my truck says that my intake is .256 and exhaust is .269. is this good...bad? or what. i don't understand. i'm going to put in a new camshaft and i want to know what to look for. i want more low end power. can some one please explain? thanks.
the number are how long it will hold the valves open and closed. cant really help you any more then that. it all depends on what you want it for and what your car could take. i can tell you what you would need. you need to ask someone from were ever your going to get it.
The cam should be designed for how the motor is built, I can't tell you the specific #'s that are good, but I can tell you it has to be match to the compression ratio and the rest of the motor work.
