Default Replacing Intake Gasket - '96 Ram 2500

I have a 1996 RAM 2500 4x4 and need to replace the intake gasket...it's leaking just a bit. The dealership wants over $500 to do it...just bought the gasket for a couple bucks and a mechanics manual for a few bucks and wondered how difficult it really is to get in there and do it myself. Seems pretty uncomplicated as long as I follow the instructions...any advice??

I've not worked on a Magnum truck motor, but I have worked on 318/340/360 smallblocks. Basically the same thing. The only advice I can give you is to make sure you seal the corners (where the head meets the block) with RTV to prevent oil leaks. Oh, and follow the torque pattern. Good luck.

FOLLOW the torque sequence and spec. It is only 12-15 ft lbs. If you over torque you will break the intake. 12-15 is not very tight, it is easy to do.
