I Just got a 96 neon sport yesterday, a new tranny was installed, now there is about 5 inchs of play on the clutch, I basically have to push it through the floor to get it to shift, if i let the clutch up even a half an inch it takes off. I was told its a self adjusting clutch......So now what?? No one seems to know.....Please help!!!

 

self adjusting, yes - but its also hydraulic - probably needs to be blead like a set of brakes. don't know about the neon's, but a chilton or hays manual should tell you where to start. if not, check reputable brake shops to blead the system for you.

Try THIS
Push the clutch all the way to the floor then
slide your foot off to the right causing the clutch to
snap back try this a couple of times.
