Default Check Engine light

I have a 2001 Dakota V8 4DR 4WD. Little light of an engine just came on yesterday. Oil's probably 1000 miles overdue.
Runs like a dream - I'm plowing three driveways this weekend (14" of snow coming). I'm GUESSING its an O2 sensor - in spite of the oil.
Any impressions are appreciated. Thanks - appreciate email as well at my boatbeergolf at yahoo address. Thanks.

Try checking the codes. This link will show you how. Then post back with the results.

Hi - where can I buy a "fault code checker" and get a good deal on one.

You don't really need you. A code reader will give you more detailed information, but the link that I posted will give you the basic code. Also Autozone will read your codes for free with a code reader.

Cool - you guys are great.
I'll go to Autozone Sat and get the fault code.
Thanks.
