Default CDR's

Hey everyone this is my first time and first post on the site. I like to make my own cd's and play them and have bought a couple different brands of cd's and havent had too much luck getting them to play in the cd player that came with the 2000 Neon. Anyone know of any brand that will work? I know it all depends on what type of die the cd is made of, but is there any way of knowing what brand will be good before purchasing?

Thanks

Chrysler units are NOT made to read CDR's

It's all in the firmware. Different CD manufacturers make slightly different CDs. A CDplayer may read a Memorex CD, but not a Maxell. The software in the CD players logic chip can only read CDs that it has the profile for. You just have to keep trying untill you find a CD-R that it can read.

I had the same problem with my Sony MP3 player a little while back. It would not read a Memorex Gold CD-R. Of course, I found this out after buying a 100 ct spindle on-line.

It's all good though, I have a new Kenwood now that will read everything.

Try burning at lower speeds. Sometimes your burner & the CDR's you're buying will let you burn at say... 52x, but your cd player in your car just won't read them unless you burn at 16x or less. It sucks because you have to wait longer for them to burn, but at least you'll get to listen to your CDs.

I have burn Cd's at 24x, 26x, 16x. there where for some people and they return for new burns.

Maybe its the type of cd he bought that was not appropiate format.

I can't get the cd player in my 98 to read cdr's either. Oh well a Kenwood MP3/CD player will fix that
