radio antitheft problem??
Ok, here is the deal.....I took out my factory cd player from my 2004 Dodge Ram and replaced it with an aftermarket cd player. The cd player does not work so i put the factory radio back in.....Now the factory radio does not power on and also my keyless entry does not work. except when i have the vehicle on. Does this have something to do with the anti theft system and am i able to fix it or will i have to take it to a dealer. Any advice will be extremely helpful. Thanks
The radio itself doesn't have any sort of anti-theft device. There isn't any sort of theft deterrent with the vehicle that would disable the radio if you changed it either. I've swapped radios in an 04 Ram and not had any problems. Sounds like you have a problem somewhere in your electrical system. I wouldn't be surprised if the radio is fried. Sounds like a trip to the dealership is in order.

thanks for the information. here is some updated information for you.... the factory radio is back in and the light around it illuminates but does not turn on. also as i stated previously my keyless remote will only work when the ignition is on, as well as the pwer door locks....when the key is out of the ignition none of those work. Also unless the key is in the ignition and on the headlights and interior domelight will not turn on. I am still thinking maybe it is still part of the theft deterrent system....whatts ya think, any input would be excellent. thanx
