I just picked up a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 club cab with the 5.2L Magnum/auto last week (80k odo). I filled up for the first time yesterday and figured my miles per gallon. I came out with a pathetic 12.2 MPG. With gas prices as they are these days, I can barely afford to drive the truck with mileage like this![X(]

So my question is:

Is this normal?

If not, any suggestions to fix the problem, or somehow increase the fuel mileage?

You forgot the minor detail--2 or 4wd? If it's 4wheel, that's nothing to complain about, unless you're old enough to remember when Dodge knew what fuel economy was.
