I have a 98 8.0 ram with 17000 miles on it . I start and run it every two weeks or so. I use it for pulling. I went out today and it wont crank?

The battery is good , the lights dont dim and there is no sound when I turn the key, everything else works.
does anyone have any Ideas? I am stumped.

 

was it ran hard/pulled hard with last time mite have heated the starter and heat welded the gear in try hittin it with a hammer not a big one and not to knock it off but to "jiggle it" have someone tryin to start it while you tap on the starter has happened to most of my cars

 

I would still start at the battery and check it maybe put it on a charger for a bit. Chances are it is fine. from there I would check the power conections from the battery to the starter. You can also as stated tap on the starter just be gentle when doing it, chances are it is the starter binding a bit.
