Default RE: Thermostat

The idea is it helps your engine run cooler which in turn helps keep combustion chamber temps lower and intake tems lower which helps with a cooler denser intake charge and prevents the computer from retarding ignition because of knock. On a stock engine with a factory program in the computer it won't do anything, it may screw up your engine by cooling the engine to the point the pcm won't go closed loop, your engine will run rich and your milage will suffer.
