fliping over air filter lid

Default fliping over air filter lid

i fliped over my air filter lid when i installed my k&n filter. its a 99 full size conv. van. now it sounds like i have a big 4 barrel carb. on there. and the pick up is alot better. have any of you tried this with similar results?

That's an old trick that has been used by may for decades. I did that with my Roadrunner when it had a 400 in it, the 440 that's in it now is too high and flipping the lid caused it to hit the hood. Now I have an open element Edelbrock breather with a K&N filter.

Some of the guys were doing that 40 or 50 years ago.
